The Embassy honors members of the Afghan Cricket team
Ottawa - On 10 August, 2011, Mr Ershad Ahmadi, Charge d'Affaires of Afghanistan Embassy in Ottawa, hosted an Iftar dinner in honor of the Afghan National Cricket team, who are in Toronto, Canada for the Intercontinental Cup 2011-2013, a series of ODI matches and Etihad Summer Festival T20 tournament.
Mr Ahmadi congratulated the members of Afghanistan National Cricket Team on their victory over Canada and expressed his pleasure at having the opportunity to celebrate with them. Mr Ahmadi praised the team for their impressive performance in achieving another remarkable victory for Afghanistan. He said, “Since the last few years, you have proved able to win different international cricket matches against all odds and you deserve all the support Afghanistan can offer. Each one of you is an inspiration to us all and your hard work and dedication will encourage other Afghan athletes to achieve excellence on the international stage. I hope your victory will send a message of peace and unity to our country and to the world.”
Mr Ahmadi wished the members of Afghanistan National Cricket Team greater success in their effort to win future international matches for Afghanistan.
